Torturing children

President Trump and his administration have hit a new low. Is “torturing children” too much here? He is causing children to be taken from their families. In some cases, babies and toddlers ripped from their mother’s arms.

But there is a bit of confusion about why this is being done. Is it a deterrent? Is the the fault of the law and the courts? Is it Congress’ fault? Are the Democrats to blame? Is it a bargaining chip so President Trump can get what he wants in an immigration bill ?

Yes, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was partly right. We do separate children from parents going to prison for a crime.

But this is a bit different. In many cases the children live with the other parent or another relative or a friend. In some cases a government agency may be involved in placing the children in a home. But I imagine the situation is nearly always better than being sent to a detention facility for children. Is it too much to call it a junior concentration camp?

Is forced separation from family a form of torture?

But back to the other question. Why is President Trump torturing children? Is the real purpose to get us to ignore the Russia Probe or maybe something else while we are being outraged by his latest actions?
