Misdirection overload

I think all the news and tweets coming out of President Trump’s administration is misdirection overload. About a month ago I wrote about misdirection here in a post called While we were being misdirected.

In the past month the news about President Trump, both real and fake, has just accelerated. I think this is not only misdirection but information overload so we are not only misdirected but we forget some of the bad stuff.

And it is hard to know what bad stuff is just bad stuff they want us to forget or bad stuff to distract us from what they are doing. The misdirection continues. And the information overload continues.

We are so overwhelmed by the misdirection overload, we forget the about the bad stuff and if we remember, is it just a misdirection anyway so we don’t notice some other stuff?

Was the raid in Yemen and the subsequent argument over whether it was a success or failure a distraction from something else or was the possible incompetence something we were being misdirection from by all the other news. Or was abit a bit of both?

Is the immigration ban still important? Or is it just a form of misdirection that they are keeping in the news?  Or is something important happening.

What is happening in healthcare?  President Trump promised  ‘insurance for everybody’  but his health secretary is talking about universal access.  There is a big difference. I can have access to something but if I can’t afford it, the access is useless.

Is the Russian influence news important or is it just a distraction? I tend to think it is really important but I could be wrong.

What is misdirection to make us pay less attention to the important stuff?  What is the important stuff?

If there is so much information we have trouble following it all, will we miss what is really important?

Is misdirection overload a real thing? Is it a problem? What do you think? Do you have any examples?
