Putin’s pals – useful idiots or willing co-conspirators

I’ve been writing about some Republican actions I find disturbing:
Putin’s Pals screw Ukraine and the border with a single move
The Appeasement Caucus

I thought I should update this blog on the status of some of Putin’s Pals. Since Mike Johnson has refused to let the House of Representatives vote on aid to Ukraine, we don’t know the views of all House members. But Speaker Johnson seems to be one of Putin’s Pals.

But it is an open question as to he or others are useful idiots or willing co-conspirators. In either case, they are helping Putin and so I will just call then Putin’s Pals.

Since mid-February Speaker Johnson has refused to allow a vote on the Ukraine aid package already passed by the Senate.

Of course, they could not cut the 2-week recess in late February. And the impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas was more important to them. Then they need to agree to a budget that should have been done many months ago. And then they need another 2-week recess so they won’t be back until April 9

And then he may delay again as he works on his own version of the Ukraine bill. And then the Senate needs to vote on it because the Speaker wants his own version.

The only good news on Ukraine is that a discharge petition may force a vote on the version already passed by the Senate.

But after all these delays, it might be too late to stop Putin.
