COVID-19 is not a joke even if Mitch McConnell thinks so

During their one and only debate, candidate Amy McGrath asked the Senate Majority Leader repeatedly why he refused to try to alleviate some of the economic pain ordinary Americans felt from the COVID-19 crisis. Senator Mitch McConnell just laughed.

This is the start of the CNN article on that:

Mitch McConnell appears to think this is some kind of joke.

At a televised debate Monday night, Amy McGrath, who is running against McConnell for a US Senate seat from Kentucky, noted again and again that a pandemic has plunged the country into an unrelenting crisis and McConnell’s Republican-controlled Senate is refusing to do anything to alleviate the pain. In response, McConnell laughed. And laughed. And laughed.

Senator Mitch McConnell, also known as “Moscow Mitch” has refused to even allow a vote on COVID relief, despite have a House Bill on his desk for months.

Not funny, Mitch. There are over 215,000 dead Americans and millions out of work. What is funny about presiding over a Senate that refuses to help? Not funny, Republican Senators.

The Republican Senate seems to deliver aid to the rich but ignore the rest of us.

Amy McGrath would like to help And that is not a joke.
