The Steel Kiss by Jeffery Deaver

I like Jeffery Deaver’s books. I know I have read several and enjoyed them immensely, especially the Lincoln Rhyme novels. So when I saw an Advance Reading Copy (ARC) of The Steel Kiss by Jeffery Deaver on Netgalley, I immediately requested it. I was reading another book at the time which I planned on finishing and had several others in line to be read but this one jumped to the front of the “to be read” line.

The Steel Kiss by Jeffery Deaver is the latest Lincoln Rhyme novel. I had high expectations and this did not disappoint.

The story begins with Amelia Sachs, a New York City detective, spotting a suspect in a recent murder. As she moves in for the arrest in a Brooklyn mall a terrible accident occurs and Detective Sachs has to abandon her planned arrest in order to help the victim.

Shortly after that we learn that forensic detective Lincoln Rhyme has left his job consulting with the New York City police for teaching. Detective Sachs asks him to help the accident victims family in a civil case. Soon they find that the murder case Sachs was working on and the apparent accident are related.

And this is just the first few chapters. Since this is a mystery with many twists and turns, I’ll not say much more. Just as you think the story is going one way, Deaver switches you in another direction. And he is very good at this.

Nothing worse than a review that tells too much and spoils the story. Enjoy The Steel Kiss by Jeffery Deaver !
