Their son John E Ready was born july, 1871.  Patrick worked as a coalminer and later a constable. But no one's been able to go beyond him or his father\r\n in Irl. My 94 yr old grandfather remembers little of his father.  But from what he knows:<br>\r\nHis father\u2019s name was Edward Edleman and was adopted.  His original name was Reidy (of some spelling).  He was 53 when he died in 1935.  So, that would make him born in 1882.  I know he was adopted in the USA. He died in Lorain OH.   That is all I have to go on at this point.  His wife was born in North Baltimore Ohio and her maiden name was Pallinger.  I have no knowledge of his birthplace, parents names, or if he was adopted from an orphanage.  \r\n<br>I hope that there might be someone out there who knows of any adoptions. The family moved to Canada, probably in the mid 1920's and settled in Saskatchewan. They\r\ncame to Western Australia around 1898. Mathias (Matthew) Russell was my\r\ngrandfather (b. August, 1845 in Cork area of Ireland; came to America in\r\n1857; lived in Seneca Township, McHenry County, IL; d. Feb. 3, 1920 in\r\nRockford, IL).  His brother, Michael Russell (b. May, 1829--d. Dec. 31,\r\n1916) came to this country in 1853. Their parents were Thomas Russell and Mary RAIDY. He married \r\nBridget ? and had at least 2 children, James Dominic \r\nReidy [b 1889 KS & lived in Junction City and Coffeyville, KS] and  \r\nKatherine (Kate) Reidy NOVAC of Chicago.<\/p> \r\n\r\n<p class=\"query\">Sharon Milner:  \r\n<a href=\"mailto:shalynwa1REMOVE@yahoo.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">\r\n(email:shalynwa1REMOVE@yahoo.com)<\/a><br> \r\nI am interested in finding information on my great-great-grandmother Margaret Reidy born in Ireland about 1831, died 1901 but don't know where.  She married Patrick Burke but don't know if this was done in Ireland or US.  They ended up in Wisconsin, had 4 children there Patrick (1853), James (1855), Thomas (1856) and Ellen (1858).  Her father was James Reidy and her mother was Ellen O'Rourke (1811-1899). Isam READY  and wife Martha ( b. 1826\r\nMO)  appeared on the 1850 census, Platte Co., MO, with their\r\ndau, Caroline ( b. 1846 MO) and a Thomas READY ( b. 1829 MO).\r\nIsam later appeared, at age 81, on the 1900 census in Leavenworth Co.,\r\nKS, with wife Rebecca. <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p class=\"query\">Jim Mulvihill:\r\n<a href=\"mailto:jmulvihillREMOVE@comcast.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">(email: jmulvihillREMOVE@comcast.net)<\/a><br>\r\nMargaret Reidy (b. abt 1835) m. James Maloney abt 1852 in IRL. Margaret may be the dau of Michael Reidy and Margaret Sullivan. Margaret died bef 1886. James emigrated to NY in 1886 and died in NJ 1899.  Daughter Anna (b.1869) and son James (b.1856) emigrated with him. Anna mar Patrick McGetrick, then Michael Mulvihill. He mar Mary Lou Hooten in Marshall County, Tn  in 1852 and had 3 children (William Melvin Reedy,  Martha Reedy and Tabitha Reedy). Richard J Reidy was born on Jan 9.1883 in Kilgarvin, worked for the rairoad from 1900-1953, and died in 1960. Ellen Godfrey was the daughter of John Godfrey and Mary Foley Godfrey.
