I quite a few listings without a working email address. If you have a query here, please check to make sure the email is OK. If you need to update the email address or anything else in the query, just let me know.

If a WWW link is available it will contain more information on the families described and the submitter. Click on the underlined (WWW) after the name to follow that link. Click on the underlined (email) for a pop-up email form. In most cases, this should launch your email program with a prefilled address.

Email addresses can be harvested from web pages by spammers. So I am trying to defeat those automated address harvesters by adding the word REMOVE to the address listed here. Please be sure to remove the word before sending your emails.

Michael REIDY (great grandfather) immigrated from Irl to America. But no one's been able to go beyond him or his father in Irl. A couple years back we celebrated the 100th anniversary of his crossing the Atlantic.

Jason Edleman: (email: )
After years of wondering my lineage, I have begin a serious search. My 94 yr old grandfather remembers little of his father. But from what he knows:
His father’s name was Edward Edleman and was adopted. His original name was Reidy (of some spelling). He was 53 when he died in 1935. So, that would make him born in 1882. I know he was adopted in the USA. He died in Lorain OH. That is all I have to go on at this point. His wife was born in North Baltimore Ohio and her maiden name was Pallinger. I have no knowledge of his birthplace, parents names, or if he was adopted from an orphanage.
I hope that there might be someone out there who knows of any adoptions. Thank You.

My Reddy's came to Australia from Co. Carlow - four siblings John, William, Mary and Eliza. Their names have become Ready and Reedy now rather than the original Reddy. John and William both settled in the Warwick area. Mary married William Slack in Ipswich in 1861 and her family settled in the Ipswich/Rosewood area of Queensland. Eliza's story is unknown at this stage. Their parents were James and Bridget Reddy. A reunion is being organised for March 2002 - we have various contacts to piece together the descendants of John, William and Mary but nothing at all for Eliza. - would love to hear from anyone from these families.

Our family of REIDY/RIDEY/REYDE/RIDAY/REIDI is of German or Swiss origin, probably Huguenot before that, though unconfirmed. The family appears in the Northern Liberties of Philadelphia about 1760. We have a family association and are seeking all descendents of the original immigrants, as well as our roots in Europe.
