I retired in 2008 and so I have more time now to devote to several of my interests The blog here is mainly for my interests in current events and genealogy. I also like to review books and may have the occasional rant on other subjects.
Briefly I worked as a scientist and data analyst/computer programmer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you want to read about my professional background that is in my LinkedIn profile.
Being retired is great because I can pick and choose what I want to do and when I do it. I think volunteering is a big part of that. For example, I have volunteered my time as part of a team to help our township evaluated an aspect of their computer system. And then again when they wanted to re-do their website.
I also serve as webmaster for other sites. I live in Oakmont Village (Hershey’s Mill West Chester, PA) and am a member of Chapter 377, NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association) so I take care of these 2 on a volunteer basis. I also volunteer as part of a team that has built and maintained the Hershey’s Mill website.
I am now confident enough of my abilities that I will develop, maintain, or just help others. Please contact me for details.
