The Rosie Effect: more than funny

Let me start by saying The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion is the second book in a series.  I had read and reviewedThe Rosie Project: A Novel by Graeme Simsion several months back.

I thought it was a great book which was laugh-out-loud funny. And the second book continues the humor.

Much of the humor in both books is based on a highly logical but socially inept main character (Don a professor of genetics) and his interactions with various people, especially Rosie of the title. I talked mostly about the humor in my review of The Rosie Project and The Rosie Effect continues with that humor in a new setting.

But the books are much more than a series of laughs. There is considerable insight into human interactions. For example see a conversation between the author and Bill and Melinda Gates about the Rosie books.

I completely enjoyed both and I hope you will too. One suggestion I do have is to start with the first in the series if you haven’t already read it.
